The project
How this one came together.
The brief
The owners — a young couple in a 3BHK DLF apartment — wanted an L-shape kitchen with full Hafele fittings but were nervous about how cramped a builder-grade 90-sq-ft kitchen would feel with a tall pantry added.
Their non-negotiables: a breakfast counter that doubled as work-from-home space, soft-close drawers everywhere, and a quartz top in a warm-cream tone.
What we changed
We re-pitched the working triangle to put the chimney over the wider wall, which freed 14 inches for the tall pantry without crowding the cooktop side. The breakfast counter cantilevers off the lower cabinet — no separate leg, so the kitchen reads bigger than it is.
All hardware is Hafele Servo soft-close on the main drawers, Hettich basic on the wall units. The carcass is BWP-grade plywood, 18mm doors with PU finish in a warm cream. The counter is Indian quartz in Frosty Carrina.

In their words
“We were ready for a kitchen that worked. We didn't expect to feel like the apartment got bigger. The breakfast counter is where I drink coffee, take calls, and prep dinner — all in the same morning.”
