FAQ
Things people ask before they sign.
Will the false ceiling reduce my room's height?
Standard installation drops the ceiling by 4–6 inches. If your existing ceiling is below 9.5 ft, we'll recommend a minimal-drop design (cove only at perimeter, no full ceiling drop) so the room doesn't feel cramped.
POP or gypsum — which should I pick?
Gypsum for new installs — it's lighter, doesn't crack as easily, faster to install. POP is cheaper and traditional but cracks over time and is messier to install. We default to gypsum unless cost is the primary factor.
How long does a single room ceiling take?
5–8 days typical. Day 1: framing. Days 2–3: gypsum boarding + taping. Days 4–5: putty and finishing. Days 6–7: painting. Day 8: lighting fixtures and final cleanup.
Do you do whole-home false ceilings or just per room?
Both. Whole-home is more cost-effective per room (we mobilize once, work continuously) but per-room is fine if you're staging the renovation. Most full-home interior projects include false ceilings in living + dining + master bedroom; other rooms stay plain.
What about the ceiling fan — does it still work?
Yes — we plan the false ceiling around your ceiling fan and any AC ducts. The fan typically gets a square or circular cutout that frames it cleanly. If you don't have a fan and won't add one, the ceiling design has more freedom.
