When a Gurugram tech startup moves into their first floor in DLF Cyber City, the question isn't 'what design do we want' — it's 'how do we do this without losing a week of productivity'. This post covers the logistics of fitting out an office in NCR's premium corporate towers without disrupting your team.
Building-specific things to know
- DLF Cyber City Buildings 5, 8, 10 — strict after-hours access protocols. Material delivery only between 6am – 9am or 7pm – 10pm.
- Vatika Towers — separate freight elevator, but it's slow. Budget 2x time for material movement.
- Udyog Vihar Phase 4 — easier access, but lift load limits restrict heavy panels to specific sizes.
- All buildings require fire safety + electrical compliance sign-off before occupation.
Weekend install strategy
Most modern offices can be installed Friday evening through Sunday night. The trick is factory-prepping everything: workstations bolt to a pre-laid rail system, partition panels lock into floor tracks, AV is pre-wired in modular harnesses. On-site work becomes assembly, not fabrication.
For a 24-seat office, weekend install is realistic. For 60+ seats, plan two consecutive weekends or a long weekend (Saturday – Tuesday). Don't try to compress more than 2,000 sq ft into a single weekend — exhausted install crews make mistakes that cost more than the day saved.
What to do the week before
- Submit security clearance for the install crew (3 days lead time at most buildings).
- Confirm freight elevator booking with building facility.
- Pre-deliver all materials Friday morning (avoid weekend tower restrictions).
- Walk the floor with the install lead and mark out workstation positions in tape.
- Test the building's electrical load with HVAC running — peak load often exceeds spec.
